Canova’s Napoleon statue in the Brera district of Milan, has stepped down from his Marble pedestal in the courtyard of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in order to undergo an extensive restoration process. A transparent structure now surrounds the statue allowing visitors to view the restoration process as it happens. Several educational panels positioned around the restoration area will inform onlookers about the restoration process in detail. The restoration of the bronze casting of Canova’s Napoleon statue is a must see for any art lover.
