The idea behind Eataly is very simple: gather all high-quality Italian foods under one roof, where you can eat, shop and learn

A cult destination dedicated to highclass Italian gastronomy, Eataly is located in piazza XXV Aprile: 5,000 sq.m. devoted to food and the best, locally sourced products spread out over 4 floors hosting not only 19 eateries and a starred restaurant (Alice) but also rooms for food workshops, a convention centre and loads and loads of music.
In fact, Eataly opened (18 March 2014) in the theatre space of Milan’s former legendary Teatro Smeraldo. As a tribute to this historic Milanese location, Eataly hosts a huge stage and  offers a totally free season of music, which includes all the genres, from pop to rock to opera, as well as hosting recitals, readings, cabaret, theatre, ballet, meetings and art shows and naturally gastronomic ones.
In Eataly Smeraldo the specialised eateries open every day from 12am to 3.30pm and from 7 to 11pm; the Lavazza and Vergnano bars are open from 10am to 12pm; the “Salumi e formaggi” eatery is open from 12am to 11pm.
