You Are Leo, Tour of the Milan of the Renaissance

This is not your usual walking tour where, amongst the traffic and skyscrapers, imagining how the city looked centuries ago requires a huge effort. Thanks to You are Leo, a real and virtual walking tour organized by Way-We Augment You and Ad Artem, you can see, hear and immerse yourself in the history of Renaissance Milan, as seen through the eyes of Leonardo da Vinci. This is a tour between past and present presented as a worldwide exclusive as part of the celebrations marking the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, who had a long and prolific sojourn in Milan.

A stroll with Leonardo

State-of-the-art immersive technologies allow visitors to retrace Leonardo’s footsteps starting from the Duomo and continuing onwards to Palazzo Reale (Leonardo’s old workshop in the Corte Vecchia), the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Porta Vercellina and, finally, the complex of Santa Maria delle Grazie and The Last Supper. When wearing their Virtual Reality headsets, participants will see digital replicas of how the areas around them looked at the time of Leonardo, while the works of art associated with the narrative will be displayed and described in 360° Limbo environments. The tour, based on accurate scientific and philological research, will be led by an expert art historian who, in addition to welcoming and guiding visitors along the route, will also handle activation of the virtual reality experiences. The tour, which covers a distance of 1.8km on foot, and lasts for approximately 1. 5 hours, is available at different times daily depending on which language, Italian or English, is selected.
