Argentinean Dinner with Tango Show by El Porteño Prohibido

Milan dances the Tango

Who says that Milan is a cold, passionless city? The city is transformed into a small Buenos Aires thanks to events that are characteristic of the Argentine capital. These include evenings where you can enjoy top-level tango performances while you dine at the latest branch of the historic El Porteño restaurant, located just a stone’s throw from Piazza San Babila (see also the Arena and Darsena restaurants). The venue is called El Porteño Prohibido, and is located in a space dedicated to tango, and Argentinean food and wine, where it features a stage equipped with state-of-the-art technical equipment. The authentic porteña atmosphere at this new space reduces the distance between Milan and Buenos Aires. Guests are immersed in the social, artistic and literary evolution of Argentinean society starting with the tango, and thanks also to the architectural layout of the locale, and the painstaking attention to décor.

Live performances

The artistic director of the project is Argentine dancer and choreographer Miguel Angel Zotto, who has over 40 years of experience in the field, and is one of the most renowned names in the world of tango and live performance. He stars in a brand-new show titled ‘Prohibido’ every Friday and Saturday, though the program at El Porteño Proibido changes every three months. The show features internationally acclaimed dancers accompanied by a live orchestra and a singer. The aim of the project is to disseminate Argentinean culture through the tango and its history.
