The authentic soul of Milan

Since the beginning, our mission has been to help you discover new, less well-known corners of the city. Those places, frequented by locals, that most tourists never see. One of these is Spirit de Milan. As its name suggests, you’ll discover the real essence of a city at this under-the-radar gem. Remember that prior to becoming a capital of fashion, Milan was an industrial, working-class city, renowned for its community life and evenings spent outdoors in courtyards, where people danced Swing and ate mondeghili (typical Milanese meatballs).
Located in the outlying Bovisa district, and formerly home to the Fratelli Livellara glassware factory, Spirit de Milan was established to allow everyone, old or young to experience the thrill of those bygone days. In addition to hosting a dance floor and restaurant, Spirit de Milan is used for concerts, performances, courses and events. It’s also a go-to place for a relaxing drink. And there’s more. Dance enthusiasts will be pleased to know that this is the kingdom of Swing. Every year it hosts the international Swing’n’Milan festival dedicated to American swing of the 30s and ‘40s.

Dance and live music

It also entertains guests with a fabulous program of live music, including jazz, funk, rock and Irish dancing. Internationally renowned artists and bands who have graced its stage include Norma Miller, the Harlem Swing Society, Californian guitarist Stef Burns, Andy Fluon, Enrico Ruggeri and Roberto Vecchioni.
