About the exhibition
The exhibition “100+1. Alberto Rosselli x Saporiti Italia” offers, 101 years after the birth of designer and architect Alberto Rosselli, one of the founders of ADI, a reflection on his work.
An extraordinarily important figure, the first president of the association and awarded the Compasso d’Oro Career Prize in 1987, Rosselli is one of the most active intellectual promoters of innovation in Italian design and its internationalisation. The tale of this long journey opens with a 15-metre-long installation of the Dune modular sofa, where the public can enjoy an immersive experience thanks to LEDwall projections of historical documents on Rosselli and Saporiti’s work.
Also on display are some of the most significant objects designed by Rosselli and many original drawings, images and films that accompany a dialogue with the climate of the time. Central focus of the exhibition, 100 Jumbo armchairs by Saporiti Italia, reinterpreted in basalt fibre, an ecological and recyclable material, by ten international architectural firms.
