The famous Blue Note Milano inaugurates its 20th season dedicated to jazz stars but also to emerging young artists from the international scene. Among them, Camille Bertault and David Helbock are among the most astounding and talented personalities of the moment. Their journeys into improvised music are always adventurous, playful and exciting. Camille Bertault is the new rising star of French vocal jazz. Austrian-born David Helbock is one of the most fascinating pianists on the current scene. Two personalities that might appear to be polar opposites, but Bertault’s fierce humour and Helbock’s calm self-assurance seem to be different only on the surface. When it comes to their musical choices, they are emphatically on the same level. Each is surprisingly versatile, with an innate sense of drama.
This vocal-piano duo achieves incredible levels of inventiveness in their latest album ‘Playround’.
