Chinese Golden Week 2023

The National Golden Week holiday, one of the most famous official holidays in Chinese tradition after Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival, begins on October 1. That date marks the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, enshrined in 1949 by Mao Zedong.
Today, this day provides an opportunity to combine six more days off so that workers can enjoy seven consecutive days of rest. Golden Week is so called in reference to the gold and business expected during the vacation period-a week of all kinds of events taking place throughout China.
The period is also auspicious for embarking on travel, which records movements of millions of people, no longer just within the country. It is during this period that by now many European cities, such as Milan, are preparing to welcome eastern visitors, with proposals adapted to the tastes of new international guests.
