About the Concert
American-German Violinist David Garrett and his Stradivari violin take audiences of the Mediolanum Forum in Assago into a wonderful crossover concert mixing and matching influences from various music genres.
As intimate as a living room concert, but as intoxicating as a stadium show, Alive Tour marks a new beginning for violin rock star David Garrett, but also a return to his roots: exciting songs with which to celebrate life, a new frontier of crossover, blending the virtuosity of classical music with the melodies of great pop songs.
The Program
The Alive Tour’s musical program ranges from deeply touching songs such as “What A Wonderful World,” “Imagine,” the Disney-esque “Beauty and the Beast,” to a chilling “Purple Rain” or rock anthems such as “Enter Sandman” or “Paint it Black,” from the repertoire of Prince, Metallica and the Stones respectively, to Pharrell Williams’ planetary hit “Happy.”
There will be no shortage of hits that will make the whole audience jump up and dance like “Hit The Road Jack”, “Thriller”, “Bella Ciao” or even the eponymous world dance track “Stayin’ Alive.” In addition to this, however, as is always the case in David Garrett’s concerts, classical music will also have a place on the stage in the artist’s innovative interpretations of, for example, Mozart’s “Confutatis,” Prokofiev’s “Dance of the Knights” and Beethoven’s “Seventh” transformed into virtuosic rock classics.
