About the exhibition

Triennale Milano pays tribute to the work of French photographer and filmmaker Raymond Depardon with the solo exhibition “La vita moderna” (the Italian for Modern Life), powered in collaboration with the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain. This is the largest exhibition ever held of the artist who, since the 1970s, has profoundly renewed the world of the contemporary image. Specially created for Milan, the exhibition reveals the influence of Italy on Depardon’s work.

Into more details

The exhibition Modern Life shows the richness of Raymond Depardon’s work, the diversity of his subjects and the coherence of his path, through eight photographic series, two films and all his published books.
The display was conceived with the intention of transforming the exhibition space into a place of questioning about the great challenges of our time.
