About the initiative
Starting on April 2022, every first Sunday of the month, state-owned museums, archaeological parks and cultural sites in Italy will grant free admission to all visitors, who can thus once again benefit from a unique initiative to promote knowledge of Italy’s cultural heritage.
In Milan, the state museums involved in the “Free Sundays at the Museum” initiative are the Pinacoteca di Brera and the Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano, which can only be visited by appointment.
In line with this initiative, the Gallerie d’Italia-Piazza Scala will also be offering free entry: visitors will be able to visit the “Da Canova a Boccioni” 19th century itineraries and the “Cantiere del ‘900” project, dedicated to the promotion of 20th and 21st century works.
Among the free museums (all year round!) that are absolutely worth seeing in Milan is also the Pirelli HangarBicocca where temporary and permanent exhibitions are set up.
The next dates will be 3 July, 7 August, 4 September, 2 October, 6 November, 4 December.
