Georgian National Ballet: Sukhishvili

Among the most famous national ballets in the world, Sukhishvili is a legendary ensemble that has preserved the traditions of authentic Georgian dance for more than 75 years. Ancient Georgian folk dances, new and original choreography, and an age-old repertoire of lyrical and warlike dances make the performances a riot of dance.
Impressive choreography, brilliant costumes, warm passion, and an orchestra with unique instruments whose sounds tell the musical history of Georgia on stage.
There are three characteristics of the group of dancers: austere and warlike, the men express proud gestures, as skilled wielders of swords and daggers; the ladies with beautiful robes, glide across the stage with extreme elegance and gentleness; finally, the third attitude is the villager one, between folklore and acrobatics.

Great success at the Teatro alla Scala
The National ballet of Georgia became the only dance ensemble that set a world record on the famous “La Scala” stage in Milan. The concert caused a furor: the curtain of the theater was drawn 14 times, so the record of Enrico Caruso was broken, where the curtain was drawn 11 times.
In the USA, the team’s performance was recognized as the best show on Broadway two times.
