Born in Indiana in 1908, after studying architecture he discovered his passion for the theatre, achieving his first successes on Broadway. After moving to Hollywood, his career immediately soared thanks to Frank Capra’s films. From that moment on, Stewart began a unique career path thanks to his unparalleled versatility, which allowed him to range across many film genres (from comedy to westerns, from thrillers to family films) and to work with some of the greatest directors in the history of cinema: in addition to the aforementioned Capra, John Ford, Alfred Hitchcock, Otto Preminger, Anthony Mann, Ernst Lubitsch, among others.
