The show

The ballet ‘La Bayadere‘, directed and choreographed by the great dancer Rudolf Nureyev, has until now been represented only by the Paris Opera Ballet, for which it was created in 1992. Now it arrives at La Scala Theater with renewed scenes and costumes (by Luisa Spinatelli). An extraordinary debut for a sumptuous production, rich in virtuosity and variations. It ends with a return to the purity of classical ballet, with the entire corps on stage in white tutus in the Kingdom of Shadows, a tableau that paved the way for the success of this ballet in the West and for Nureyev’s shining star.
