LaFil at MUDEC: The Sound of Art

At MUDEC in Milan for a week, music meets surrealist art. The musicians of LaFil-Filarmonica di Milano will be protagonists together with the public in one of the city’s most dynamic artistic contexts, the Museo delle Culture. “The Sound of Art” is the new cultural project in which music dialogues with art for a week on the occasion of the exhibition “Dalí, Magritte, Man Ray and Surrealism” “The Sound of Art” intends in fact to decline the relationship between orchestral music and museum fruition, permeating every moment of the visitor’s experience in the museum with the evocative charm of classical music: the pieces performed will be inspired by the surrealist masterpieces on show.

LaFil – Filarmonica di Milano is an orchestra born from an innovative conception: its first parts come from the most important Italian and international musical institutions (from the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala to the Berliner and Wiener Philarmoniker, from the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia to the MET – Metropolitan Opera House, etc.), alongside a selection of young musicians among the best of their generation. One of the main objectives of LaFil is to make music alive and present in the fabric of cities, involving places of different vocations: from theatres to parks, from residences in different cities to museums such as MUDEC.
