Palazzo Reale is hosting for the first time in Europe an extensive monographic exhibition of one of the leading figures on the international art scene: Leandro Erlich.
An Argentinean artist, born in Buenos Aires in 1973, Erlich creates large installations with which the public relates and interacts, becoming the work of art itself.
His works are unique and represent an absolute novelty in the art world and combine creativity, vision, emotion and fun. Buildings in which one virtually climbs, uprooted houses suspended in the air, lifts that lead nowhere, escalators tangled like threads in a ball of yarn, disorienting and surreal sculptures, videos that subvert normality. These are all elements that tell us something ordinary in an extra-ordinary context, where everything is different from what it seems, where we lose our sense of reality and our perception of space.
Erlich’s works are the result of a profound and conceptual artistic research, which borders on the paradoxical and which has already won millions of visitors worldwide: 600,000 in Tokyo and 300,000 in Buenos Aires, wherever the public has flocked to his exhibitions, characterised by site-specific installations that are very complex to realise and therefore very rare.
