About the exhibition

The Armani/Silos spaces host the exhibition Magnum Photos – Colors, Places, Faces: a composite and multiform narrative reflecting a unique combination of art, journalism and storytelling.

Curated by Giorgio Armani in collaboration with Magnum Photos, the exhibition offers an eclectic perspective through the gaze of ten international photographers and their respective ways of understanding photography. Artists who are still active or who have disappeared, united by the desire to explore reality and render its suggestions and emotions in the form of images. From Christopher Anderson’s China, to Olivia Arthur’s Dubai; from Bruno Barbey’s Morocco to Werner Bischof’s New York; from René Burri’s architecture to Harry Gruyaert’s coastline; from Martin Parr’s pungent dissection of English living to Gueorgui Pinkhassov’s portrayal of Tokyo and Venice; from Newsha Tavakolian’s depiction of Iran in its everyday life to Alex Webb’s saturated Latin America and the Caribbean.
With this exhibition Giorgio Armani supports the projects of the international organisation Save the Children.

More about Magnum Photos

Founded seventy-five years ago by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, ‘Chim’ Seymour and George Rodger, Magnum Photos is one of the world’s most famous photo agencies. The name pays tribute to the great dreams that Capa nurtured for the future of this project.
Magnum has told – and continues to tell – the world through images. Its photographers were among the first to go against the tide, moving from black and white to colour.
Sharing journeys and discoveries in the pages of magazines and periodicals, they described places, people and cultures at a time when mass travel did not yet exist.
