About the guided tour

Around Binario 21 at the Central Station of Milan, a symbolic place of the Shoah in Italy, the Memorial project was developed. An Italian place that belongs to the world, a space of encounter, exchange and Memory. Of all the places in Europe that were the scene of deportations, today the Memorial is the only one that has remained intact. It pays tribute to the victims of extermination and represents a living and dialectical context in which to actively reframe the tragedy of the Shoah.

About the Shoah Memorial of Milan

The Shoah Memorial stands in the area below the track level of Milan’s Central Station. This is where prisoners were loaded onto cattle wagons on their way from the San Vittore prisons to Auschwitz-Birkenau, Mauthausen and other extermination and concentration camps, or to Italian assembly camps such as Fossoli and Bolzano.
