Following the success of past editions, Milano Arch Week, the event dedicated to architecture, urban transformation and the future of cities founded and promoted since 2017 by the City of Milan, Politecnico di Milano and Triennale Milano, is back.
This fifth edition, under the artistic direction of Stefano Boeri, President of Triennale Milano, is curated by Nina Bassoli, curator for Architecture, Urban Regeneration, Cities at Triennale Milano, and Matteo Ruta, lecturer at Politecnico di Milano.
This year’s theme “Waiting for Peripheries” is proposed as a moment of confrontation on the social and cultural energies of the city, aimed at initiating a collective reflection on the suburbs. International architects and designers, emerging studios and professionals, urban planners and landscape architects have been invited to reflect on these themes.
This year, the event is being renewed and presented in a new guise, expanding its boundaries and activating other venues spread throughout the city: schools, theatres, associations, libraries, neighbourhood gardens, 40 places that trace a network from the centre to the outskirts.
The programme of this network spread throughout the territory will start as early as Saturday 3 June with over 50 events that will continue for the duration of the event. As always, there will be tours, itineraries and explorations of the city.
