An ode to jewellery
Milano Jewelry Week, the Milanese festival dedicated to the word of jewels, makes its comeback in the city for its 2022 edition. About 200 events will animate in the centre of Milan high jewellery ateliers, goldsmith workshops, academies, schools, art galleries, fashion boutiques and design showrooms. From Brera to Porta Venezia, passing through Duomo and Montenapoleone, there are many areas of the Lombard capital involved in the initiative.
More than 500 exhibitors from 40 different countries (foreign countries account for about 70% of the total) for more than 8,000 pieces of jewellery on display: these are the incredible numbers of a kermesse that, through collective and personal exhibitions, exhibitions of international galleries and schools, workshops, performances, temporary shops and award evenings.
Besides displaying beautiful creations, the event also focuses on clusters such as the importance of recycle, sustainability as well as the choice of materials and manufacturing techniques.
Highlights
The festival features various events-within-the-event wich include Artistar Jewels, FaB byArtistar Jewels, The Jewelry Hub, Jewelry Drops and Talent Show, as well as educational and training initiatives held by professionals in the sector.
Artistar Jewels – held in the exclusive backdrop of the highly-central Palazzo Bovara – gathers the contemporary jewels and creations of over 200 artists and designers from 40 countries and serves as a celebraion of creativity.
Conversely, The Jewelry Hub showcases the latest creations from precious jewellery brands, selected according to strict criteria High Fine, Fashion Jewelry and Jewelry Vintage), in a visually striking setting in a building steeped in history in the centre of Milan.
The event also embraces the phygital dimension thanks to the Jewelry Drops initiative enabling international artists and designers to take part in the event, both in person and remotely and showcase their creations.
