About the Concert
The doors of the Bagatti Valsecchi house-museum open in a festive spirit to all guests who wish to share a moment of beauty in the setting of one of Milan’s most prestigious house-museums. The notes of the siblings Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn performed by a voice and piano ensemble of the LaFil Filarmonica di Milano will accompany the greetings for the upcoming Christmas.

United by great talent and bound by deep affection for each other, Felix and his elder sister Fanny Mendelssohn are the stars of this evening. Fanny made a name for herself as a performer as well as a composer, although her fortunes always remained in the shadow of her more famous brother. Felix Mendelssohn, for his part, dedicated to her – on his death in May 1847 – an intense requiem in which vigour, lyricism and melancholy intertwine to testify to all the sincerity of a brotherly love.
