About the exhibition

To celebrate its 150th anniversary, the historic Banca Cesare Ponti is hosting the contemporary art exhibition “Numerismiby Adriano Attus. An original project that stems from the relationship between the bank’s tradition and the contemporary and numerical language of the artist and Creative Director of the Italian magazine “Il Sole 24 Ore”.
The exhibition itinerary unfolds along the ground floor of the Piazza del Duomo office, characterised by a unique aesthetic thanks to its late 19th century wooden interiors, and through the shop windows, making the exhibition partly visible from outside, in a continuous dialogue with the square and the city.

About the artist

A multifaceted and multimedia artist, Adriano Attus is known for using a “numerical language” in his works that goes beyond the investigation of mere numbers, opening up to the study of form and graphics. The artist gives numbers a new aesthetic sense and order in the chaos of information in which we are immersed.
The exhibition includes part of his “Neometrie” and “Numerage” series and site-specific installations created for the occasion. Among the most important works is “150“, created to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the historic Milanese company specialising in private banking, and the “Numerical Planetarium” series, presented to the public in NFT paper and digital format, which can be viewed on screens.
