About the fair
This year Orticola, the market-exhibition of unusual, rare and antique flowers, plants and fruit, returns to the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens.
This is the theme proposed to all, enthusiasts, gardeners, collectors, nurserymen, designers: to spread awareness of the health benefits that plants bring. Because plants are good for you from many points of view, from medicinal to food plants, from essential oils to medicinal species, from gardening as a psychological relaxation activity to therapeutic gardens.
The 160 exhibitors taking part in the 25th edition of Orticola will be showcasing some of the most unique and special plants and flowers to be found.
New entries
A group of 9 new nurserymen, young people, start-ups, heirs of families have been selected because they produce directly or recover and reproduce old plants already present in the area, giving priority to the production of new plants already present in the area, favouring organic methods or breeding methods aimed at reducing environmental impact. These include Fattipomodorituoi in Carmagnola and Renato Ronco Vivai in Ciriè (both in the province of Turin), Lemonflor (in the province of Messina) and Rosso Tiziano (in the province of Rome).
