About the event

Symmetries, numbers and proportions come together in new pieces premiered by the electronic music students of the Conservatorio ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ in Milan. The last concert of the “Palazzo Marino in Musica 2022” event, “The Well-Tempered Sound”, is inspired by models, materials and techniques of Musique concrète and Musique Acousmatique with references to composer strategies and compositions from the repertoire of historical and contemporary acousmatic music.
The acousmatic space and multi-channel systems for sound projection and techniques of sound production and compositional design will lead to the performance of synthesis and elaboration of concrete sounds creating a soundscape and sound composition. In this way, combining mathematics and new technologies, original compositions will be heard with the elaboration and development of interactive compositional and performance software environments.

About Palazzo Marino in Musica

Palazzo Marino in Musica-2022Symmetries, numbers and proportions‘ is the title of the series of six free concerts in the splendid Sala Alessi of the 16th-century Palazzo Marino, seat of Milan’s municipal administration and centre of political life. An edition that investigates the relationship between music and mathematics, where the vision of a mathematical nature governing the art of music and the importance of symmetry as an essential form of beauty are not a technical-scientific innovation of contemporary times, but an ancient and recurring fact.
