Romeo and Juliet at the Teatro alla Scala

“Romeo and Juliet” is a never-ending love story, a classic of choreography to Prokofiev’s immortal music, brimming with emotion, deeply theatrical and engaging. Among the most beautiful and exciting, Kenneth MacMillan’s version of this ballet, which has been in repertoire at La Scala for many years. A version that has seen alternating unforgettable and passionate protagonists in giving body and soul to the Shakespearean tale of the Veronese lovers, which MacMillan treats with deep attention to human relationships, with lyricism and psychological tension, with the moments of humor, dynamics and emotions of ballet d’action well present in the score. In the staging created for La Scala in 2010 by Mauro Carosi and Odette Nicoletti, it now returns to the stage seven years after its last performances.
