The divinely inspired culture of ancient China is expressed through the incredible art of classical Chinese dance of Shen Yun. Shen Yun makes this possible by pushing the boundaries of the performing arts, with a unique blend of breathtaking costumes, high-tech backdrops and an orchestra like no other. Classic stories of love and loss, humour and heroic deeds come to life.
Each performance consists of around 20 acts, which quickly move from one legend, region or dynasty to the next. The themes range from the delicate elegance of Tang court ladies to the battlefield heroism of valiant generals, from the timeless philosophical works of Laozi to spectacular scenes of magical kingdoms. Some pieces also touch on the theme of China today, shedding light on the oppression many suffer for their spiritual beliefs, such as Falun Dafa.
