About the exhibition
The Enrico Toti S-506 submarine is on display in the outdoor areas of the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia. The submarine is part of the Naval transport exhibition but because of its large size is located in the external areas.
Visitors to the Museum, by purchasing an additional ticket, can go on board to relive the emotions of the sailors during navigation.
The guided tour that takes place every weekend allows you to go on board to see a jewel of technology up close, including a periscope, sonar and watertight chambers, and a fragment of Italian history.
More details
Launched in 1967, the Submarine S 506 Enrico Toti was the first submarine built in Italy after World War II. Her task was to patrol the waters of the Mediterranean Sea to detect the passage of Soviet submarines.
