The new contemporary osteria Corteccia in the San Babila area brings the revolutionary, down-to-earth cuisine of histrionic Tuscan chef Cristiano Tomei to Milan. Starting with fresh ingredients of the highest quality, the restaurant expresses an ingenious cuisine that combines territory, tradition and openness to the world. His offer is based on dishes with solid roots, strongly recognisable to the palate and prepared with seasonal ingredients such as the ‘Tortelli Olio d’erbe’ and the ‘Fritto misto di mare e terra su fazzoletto’.
In keeping with the rhythm of the city, the contemporary osteria is open for lunch and dinner with a unique menu that communicates Cristiano Tomei’s food and wine vision in a direct and creative way.
The menu puts food at the centre, just like the osterias of yesteryear, cosy places where you can enjoy good Italian dishes. The menu also includes a small signature section of the chef’s iconic dishes such as ‘Pennoni panna e prosciutto’ and ‘Crema catalana al Parmigiano e cervella’.
In addition to the wine selection that also features labels from small organic producers, personally curated by Tomei himself, there is also a cocktail proposal for aperitifs and after-dinner drinks, with the great classics of good drinking.
Corteccia seats 67 inside, of which 10 at the bar and 8 in the private room with an imperial table in the centre, to which the 15 seats of the outdoor area are added in fine weather. The chosen interior reflects the Chef’s cooking philosophy: to create a place where you can eat and feel good, a place that makes you want to come back.
Corteccia is developed within a multifunctional space, where Cofoundry’s coworking space is located upstairs.
