Gualtiero Marchesi, the undisputed Maestro of Italian cuisine, reconfirms his love for the city of Milan with a new initiative ‘a restaurant within a restaurant’. The chef’s iconic “il Marchesino” restaurant, lying adjacent to La Scala, now shares its space with the new “il Marchesi”. Every day, at lunch and at dinner (excluding Saturdays at lunchtime and Sundays), the main dining room of ‘Il Marchesino’, boasting just seven tables, is transformed into the ‘Il Marchesi’ restaurant where guests can order a special menu, featuring the great classics that have modernized Italian cuisine together with a collection of tributes and d’après, all recipes inspired by the Maestro’s unique, longstanding relationship with artists. Not only a unique chance to rediscover historic dishes but also the specials created, over the years, for Milan. One of the most innovative features of the venue (the only Milanese restaurant that is a member of the prestigious international ‘Les grandes tables du monde’ Association) is the option of choosing your menu on iPads, on which – together with a video of Gualtiero Marchesi and photos of the dishes – you can also view any ingredients that might affect diners suffering from food intolerances. Lastly, the venue also offers a sought-after wine list which includes a selection of more than 300 labels: renowned Italian classics plus a few innovative offerings together with the best French wines and champagnes.
Open daily, noon-2.30pm and 8pm-10.30pm. Closed on Saturday noon and on Sunday.
