Open-air Swimming Pools in Milan

Especially in Summer, the city shows its versatility offering different facilities to help you ease the heath, such as outdoor swimming pools. Though you may have a swimming pool at your hotel, Milan also offers a selection of outdoor pools open to residents and visitors both for swimming classes and for free swimming days or water games.

In accordance with safety regulations related to the COVID-19 emergency, entry to the various swimming pools and bathing areas is restricted. It is therefore advisable to purchase entry tickets online in advance. Once the maximum capacity has been used up, no more tickets will be available.

Featuring a large and a small open-air swimming pool, the complex Bagni Misteriosi (Mysterious Baths) dating back to the 1930s and recently refurbished is located in the centre of the city, behind the Franco Parenti Theatre. Its spaces are open from 22 May to 30 September, allowing guests to freely swim, sunbathe and enjoy swimming lessons for adults and youngsters alike as well as mermaid-style swimming trials. Several events are held through the summer, including the unmissable poolside aperitivo ritual, held daily (with the exception of Tuesdays), from 7pm to 11pm.

Located just a few minutes from the city, Acquatica Park conjures up both a swimming pool and a water fun park offering visitors a chance to enjoy sport, entertainment and relaxation all-in-one. Among the main attractions, guests all ages can find the ‘Twister’ whirl with two spirals, the ‘Fiume Lento’ (Lazy River) and the ‘Laguna Azteca’ (Azteca Lagoon) water attractions and mini-slides at the ‘Baby Lagoon’, for children and youngsters. Open from 16 June to 1 September.

The vast area located in the northern part of Milan is particularly well-loved in summer thanks to its vast green spaces. Here guests can find two swimming pools – Piscine La Valetta and Piscine Punta dell’ Est – both equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas and clear water to enjoy free swimming or swimming classes. Moreover, just steps from the swimming pools, visitors can also take advantage of a small beach on the East bank of the Idroscalo to enjoy thrilling water sports and activities. Open from 10 June to 6 September.

Built in the early 30s, it displays a rectangular shape that corresponds to the typical architectural designs of past times, though it offers nowaday’s technologies. Surrounded by a spacious park in which guests can sunbathe, play volleyball or simply chill out, the swimming pool is also provided with a kiosk used as a bar to offer food or refreshing drinks. Rent service for sun beds and beach umbrellas is available daily during the Summer period; while the outer pool is only open from 3 June to September, an inner pool is open for the rest of the year to allow guests to enjoy their swim at any time.
