Angela Caputi Giuggiù’s innovative, elegant jewels are the perfect addition to the wish list of every woman: “Opalina” is the collection of costume jewellery created by the Florentine designer for Spring/Summer 2016. Her synthetic resins are characterized by a spectacular, translucent effect, resembling that of opaline. This gemstone pairs beautifully with innumerable shades of colour, creating myriad variations in which opaline is combined with yellow and orange, turquoise and coral, green jade and amethyst. This season, the designer has focused on this somewhat unusual combination by enhancing the ‘Opalina’ collection with a mini-series in which the geometric shapes of transparent Perspex are enriched by small shavings and sheets of fluorite, thus creating a perfect harmony between the different hues and components used to create the collection.
