The San Siro gallop racecourse is named after the district of the same name in which it is located. Inaugurated in the 1920s, it forms together with the Giuseppe Meazza stadium and the PalaLido the sports citadel of Milan.
The area over which the racecourse extends includes a part for the public, one for the race track, one for the training track, one for the stables and another for various uses. The straight track measures over 1,700 metres. In summer, concerts, events and festivals are held inside.
