In these times, when the most traditional idea of travelling is not possible for the COVID-19 lockdown, why not travel through past and present thanks to period shots? The Italian Touring Club has made it possible by creating Digitouring, an online archive gathering over a century of history and tourism in Italy. Period pictures and magazines, as well as letters and archive publications powered by the first Italian tourism association – the Touring Club – are divided into themed sections providing visitors with virtual itineraries to discover the protagonists and the most important monuments that have made travelling through Italy a not-to-be-missed experience. The most curious readers can also discover all the details of the various images, such as the author, the date of its creation and the techniques used in the making.
