A new way of imagining culture

During the lockdown connected to the COVID-19 issue, Milan’s Fondazione Prada has reimagined its cultural offer thanks to various online services enabling visitors to fully discover the foundation and its heritage straight from their homes. According to this new concept of multimedia experience, the foundation’s website, as well as the official Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Vimeo and YouTube accounts become the ideal stage to share ideas and explore new ways to experiment with culture. Thanks to the “Glossary” section, for instance, the various projects connected to art, cinema, dance, music, architecture and philosophy launched from 1993 up to our days become the protagonists of an ideal dialogue of art thanks to images, videos, texts and extracts from catalogues. Conversely, the Inner Views initiative has been created to substitute a real visit to the spaces of the Fondazione and to enable visitors to discover the three featured exhibitions – “The Porcelain Room”, “Storytelling” and “K” – thanks to an online learning method based on interviews, images, videos and focus on the featured masterpieces. A more complete vision of art is provided by the Outer Views section, focusing on the contribution of works of art from the Fondazione Prada on loan to other important Italian and foreign institutions.

Culture for everyone

Art films as well become an integral part of the online offer powered by Fondazione Prada. Staring from 5 April, indeed, the brand-new “Perfect Failures” section, perfected in collaboration with the MUBI website, is set to serve as an online platform to discover a vast array of art movies. Even kids and youngsters can find their share thanks to Accademia Aperta, a video project gathering all contents, installations and studies carried out by architects, artists, scientists and pedagogues from the Accademia dei Bambini from 2015 onwards. Moreover, Italian visitors wishing to listen to extracts of books issued by the Fondazione Prada from 2012 can take advantage of the podcasts which can be downloaded for free from the “Readings” section of the website.
