I am glad to welcome you in Milan. No matter whether you are in our city for business or on holiday, whether you are staying for just one day or decide to spend a week. From the most representative places – such as Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Teatro alla Scala – to those that show the modern face of the city – such as Porta Nuova or CityLife -, from Darsena to the many city museums, from the street art works that color our neighborhoods to the most fashionable and niche clubs, Milan will conquer you.
You will fall in love with its 26 centuries of history, its being traditional, international and open to innovation at the same time, I am sure.

Giuseppe Sala
Mayor of Milan.
Giuseppe (Beppe) Sala was born in Milan in 1958 and became the key man for Milan when he was appointed by the government to lead the EXPO 2015 team. The event turned out to be a huge success. Millions of visitors discovered Milan at that time. And he was the natural candidate to become mayor the following year (June 2016). His career as a top manager has seen him CEO of Pirelli Tyre, Telecom Italia and General Manager of the Milan municipality. He loves to ride his bike and can be seen around Milan in his typical attire at weekends.
