The land of cribs

The magic of Christmas has come in the spaces of Rinascente. First and foremost thanks to a display of beautifully-decorated cribs by three historical artisanal workshops from Naples: Bottega Ferrigno, Di Virgilio 1830 and Marco Ferrigno 1836. The tradition of creche-making is inextricably linked to the city of Naples making the street of San Gregorio Armeno famous worldwide for their mixture of statues from the sacred to the profane, spanning from saints, the Holy family and religious characters to footballers, politicians and modern-times personalities. The cribs are at the meantime the protagonists of the windows of the Milanese Flagship Store from 5 December and visible at the store’s 6th floor, where those wishing to enjoy a little shopping for Christmas can purchase a selection of handmade crib statues by Jenny Di Virgilio, Marco Ferrigno and Bottega Ferrigno di Giovanni e Monica Giudice, crafted in different sizes and materials.

Shopping for decorations for the home

Not just cribs, as the spaces of the 6th floor are also embellished by Christmas-themed lights and decorations for the home. These span from traditional gold, red or tartan Christmas balls, up to creative versions evocative of faraway countries, as well as decorated balls embellished by the key symbols of each city hosting a Rinascente Store. Moreover, the vast array of themed decorations includes music boxes recreating traditional Christmas villages and a collection of vintage nutcrackers created by American designer Kurt Adler.
