Bulgari Re-Opens in the Fashion Quad

Bulgari is always in the limelight, but this time it’s not about its spectacular collections. The historic maison of Haute joaillerie has been given a makeover, choosing the creative concept of architect Peter Marino to restyle its ‘Milanese home’ in the heart of the city’s centrally located via Montenapoleone. In addition to its scintillating collection of jewellery, visitors to the store will be instantly captivated by its striking architectural design, an intriguing combination of innovation, opulence and tradition; hallmark features of the fascinating, eclectic style of the New York architect.
The true essence of the boutique lies in its details, in that subtle, distinctly Milanese exuberance, that has made minimalism its signature feature. The via Montenapoleone space retains the unmistakable architectural features shared by all Bulgari boutiques, but is distinguished by its inimitable references to key figure of Milanese design and architecture of the 1930s, including Piero Portaluppi and Villa Necchi Campiglio, the magnificent residence built in 1935, and considered by many to be the Milanese architect’s urban masterpiece. Featuring clean-lines, and flawlessly detailed interior spaces, decorative furnishings and works of art, the sheer opulence of this magical place is mirrored in the new boutique (you can visit it at via Mozart 14). The interior of the boutique is made even more beautiful by a winter garden. Sculpted in white marble and glass, the winter garden is an airy, light-filled space featuring floors in Lasa marble worked as a mosaic with Bois Jourdan marble and porphyry. The scenic layout of this space is further enhanced by the extension of the design from to the floor to the back wall, framing the majestic floral installation by Japanese artist Azuma Makoto, whose brilliant, vivid colours bear witness to Bulgari’s passion for colours, art and nature.
