It has been announced that the New York giant FAO Schwarz, a historic toy shop and since its inception in 1862 one of the best-loved by children in the Big Apple (and beyond), is set to open in the heart of Milan by the end of 2021. The toys centre will be hosted inside a maxi-store of the childrenswear and accessories brand Prénatal in a historic building in Piazza Cordusio and will be the New York toy brand’s first flagship store in continental Europe.
Located just steps from the Duomo, the store will be spread over an overall surface of 600 sq.m over three different levels designed to recall the key features of the historic store in New York. Besides the best of the FAO Schwarz toys favourites, including teddy bears, stuffed animals, dolls, action figures, puzzles and trains the store hosts also a vast array of apparel, ride on and rockers, as well as other must-haves for babies and toddlers.
Good news also for those who have already visited the iconic store in New York: key brand elements such as the clock tower and the popular dance floor will be some of the key features of Milan’s store too.
