Hats off to Borsalino

An iconic sign in gold leaf on a black background has marked the presence of the Borsalino brandin the heart of the Galleria designed by Giuseppe Mengoni for over 130 years. Since 1883, the year of its establishment, Borsalino has held a prime position on the Milanese shopping scene, earning it the name of a ‘Highly historic and traditional store’. This is the highest accolade awarded to historic shops in the Lombardy region. It is just one of a long list of tributes paid to the time-honored history of Italian artisanal tradition that distinguishes Borsalino, whose clientele includes film stars and key figures in the world of art, design and fashion. The Milanese boutique features the brand’s entire creative universe, where lovers of timeless accessories can find felt or straw hats, fabric or waterproof hats and berets, plus men and women’s caps, or scarves in precious materials including velvet and suede.

A myriad collections

In addition to its most iconic styles, which include Dorsè, Traveller, Art Nouveau, Bucket, Trilby, Alessandria and Marengo, in the small, medium or wide brim versions and in an endless combination of colours and patterns, with contrasting hat bands, there’s also the Bogart collection. This model, a tribute to the actor Humphrey Bogart, is the star of a re-interpretation that has given birth to the new Bogart by Borsalino Cut 3 featuring a high crown, blueberry shaved felt, a medium brim, and a unique two-color band with a jacquard print. This season’s must-have comes in a special hat box dedicated to the Hollywood actor.
