Sicilian mood

At number 2 Via della Spiga, one of Dolce&Gabbana’s historic boutiques, in the heart of the Quadrilatero della Moda, was recently refurbished and taken to a whole new level of opulence (check our new opening here). Stretching over 920 square meters on three floors, the new mood of the store is dedicated to both luxury and the Baroque, in keeping with the DNA of the brand. Gilded columns, portals, armchairs and mirrors, large scrolls, stems and friezes radiate all the decorative exuberance of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Myriad precious materials, ranging from Red Jasper marble and lacquered elm briar to deep red onyx with white and gold veins, act as a backdrop. The floors echo the black basalt stone of the central staircase, in a blend reflecting Italian elegance and artisan workmanship. A testament to the attention to detail that instills the boutique with an almost magical atmosphere. The elevator, boasting a floor created with marble intarsia, features the most romantic words of Italian writers of bygone centuries. Dedicated entirely to the female universe, the three-storey boutique hosts the brand’s collections of womenswear, accessories, jewelry and watches. Like its retail counterparts on via Condotti and Piazza di Spagna in Rome, and Old Bond Street, in London, Dolce&Gabbana’s via della Spiga store has been given a new look.
