Teatro alla Scala
Among the performances that have built the legend of the Teatro alla Scala is undoubtedly the staging of “Le Nozze di Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart directed by Giorgio Strehler in 1981. The production took a project conceived for Paris and adapted it to the spaces of the La Scala stage, creating a masterpiece of elegance, proportions and narrative clarity. Suggestive and sunny scenes by Ezio Frigerio within which the characters act in the beautiful costumes by Franca Squarciapino.
For the return of this classic, La Scala called upon Andrés Orozco-Estrada on the podium and lined up a cast combining great names with young artists: Luca Micheletti and Ildebrando D’Arcangelo as Figaro and Count, Olga Beszmertna and Benedetta Torre as Countess and Susanna.
