What is the Fuorisalone?

From many decades now, one cannot separate the Salone del Mobile. Milano from the series of side events that take place in the same period in some of the not-to-be-missed destinations of the city: the Fuorisalone. As is customary every year, together with the official event held at Rho Fiera, the Fuorisalone energizes the city and its outskirts with a series of fringe events divided into areas described as ‘districts’.

For a week, Milan abounds with themed events, presentations, concerts, DJ sets and special projects related to the world of design, furniture and innovations in living solutions.
The 2021 edition features a rich programme featuring over 500 events among exhibitions, installations and talks.

The ‘Salone del Mobile’ and ‘Fuorisalone’ define Milan’s Design Week, premiering the latest trends for the forthcoming year and heralding a tidal wave of events, exhibitions and presentations. During the Fuorisalone, many locations usually feature longer opening hours. Moreover, during Milan Design Week many important brands located in the design districts introduce their new collections and host special events with live music and entertainment for a totally unmissable extravaganza.

Although the events are usually scattered throughout the city, the Fuorisalone recognises a series of main districts, usually distinguished by the endorsement of Milan’s Municipality.
