Formerly the site of the old Ospedale Maggiore, Milan’s Ca’ Granda (as it is known by the Milanese) has become a part of Milan’s tour circuit. Tours, particulary appealing for doctors and history of science enthusiasts, are available on Wednesdays (2.30pm-5.30pm) and on Saturdays (9.30am-12.30pm) in Italian and English and, subject to booking, also in French, German and Spanish. On the other days of the week, visitors wishing to tour the complex will be provided with a descriptive brochure at the entrance. They will also be able to glean information about its history thanks to information panels located at various points of the itinerary (all informative material is available in both Italian and English). In August, the tour series will end on Saturday 8 and resume on Wednesday 26.
