The new frontier of international luxury shopping, Terminal 1 at Milan’s Malpensa Airport is now fully geared up to welcome international visitors

The jewel in the airport’s crown, this new shopping gallery, extending over a surface area of 13,000 sq.m., is located in the departures area of Terminal 1 and is now accessible to all passengers taking Schengen and non-Schengen flights.
Innovation, quintessential Italian design, avant-garde materials and enlarged spaces will welcome passionate shoppers. Overall, the area boasts some hundred restaurants, bars and shops – including 46 new stores which recently opened their doors to the public – plus a duty free area extending over more than 2,000 sq.m. One of the largest in Europe, its layout is based on the model of several of the most innovative department stores in the world and offers a wide range of consumer products, each allocated to a separate space.
In the middle of the Piazza del Lusso, an 8,000 sq.m. space pays homage to the city, revisiting several of the architectural elements of Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in a modern-day key. The most notable international luxury brands include Bulgari, Armani (first opening in a European airport), Ermenegildo Zegna, Etro, Gucci, Hermès, Montblanc, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta, Tod’s, Moncler, Damiani, Hugo Boss, Furla, Moreschi, Pinko, Piquadro, Swatch and many others. To all intents and purposes, the new gallery is no longer just a walk-through area but a go-to destination, where you can enjoy a great coffee break or a tantalizing starred lunch at the Davide Oldani Cafè.
At the Piazza del Gusto, standouts include the Ferrari Spazio Bollicine which pays tribute to Italian quality, Caffè Milano and Venchi, Italian gourmet chocolatier. Also particularly noteworthy is the “Emozioni” space, a food and wine area offering a selection of superior Italian enogastronomic products.
