Centrale District is a committee of entrepreneurs and citizens of the area between Piazza Repubblica and Piazza Duca d’Aosta, born in 2017 on the initiative of some prestigious hotels in the area. It is a movement that develops initiatives of a cultural nature, with the aim of enhancing the area of Central Station – to all intents and purposes the city’s calling card – and its surrounding areas, jointly coping with the critical issues of the district. Centrale District’s activities throughout the year aim to improve the livability and safety of the neighborhood, and to foster aggregation.
A number of well-known names in Milanese hospitality, art galleries, stores and eateries (such as Mercato Centrale Milano) are part of Centrale District. Among the most recent initiatives in the district, a morning of urban plogging was organized on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2022: gloves and bags in hand, some residents of the district cleared some of the central streets and squares of the area of garbage, in preparation for the big international event.
Chair of the committee is Consuelo Hernandez; vice chair is Camilla Doni.
