Name: Creative Academy by Richemont Group
Type: International Private School (Corporate School)
Description: Creative Academy is the International Corporate Design School of Richemont Group featuring a postgraduate Master of Arts in Design and Applied Arts in jewelry, watchmaking and accessories.
Compagnie Financière Richemont SA is the ultimate holding Company for some of the world’s leading luxury goods companies – its Maisons – encompassing jewelry, watches, premium accessories and other luxury products.
Projects commissioned and supervised directly by the Maisons*, presentations by Richemont CEOs, competitors and other entrepreneurs, guided visits and a 3-month internship in the Creative Department of the Richemont Maisons make up the program of the offered Master.
The teaching staff is mostly composed of professionals coming from within the Richemont Group. The School benefits also from the contribution of Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, a private non-profit foundation active in Milan whose mission is safeguarding and promoting arts and artistic craftsmanship, POLI.design (Politecnico di Milano) and SDA Bocconi School of Management (Bocconi University).

Founder(s)/Mission: the aim of the program is to convey theory into practice, that is to say into the professional world. The Master runs across the entire process that goes from design up to the development of the product through outstanding craft activities and the study of marketing and communication, without forgetting theoretical lessons about the dynamics of the luxury world and about the competitive benefit produced by applied creativity.

Awards: due to its corporate identity, CA does not take part in international design competitions
Students’ Nationalities: since multiculturalism is one of the features of Creative Academy, the recruiting campaign involves hundreds of design schools and universities worldwide. 2015 edition of the Master of Arts in Design and Applied Arts encompassed 10 different nationalities and 4 different continents out of 20 students.
Accommodation Service: Creative Academy does not offer any dormitory facilities. However, the Secretary’s Office supports students in the search of an accommodation.
Fees and Scholarships: students must pay a tuition fee to attend the course. However, scholarships are awarded to the most deserving students.

COURSES IN FASHION AND LUXURY GOODS: arts of designing and merchandising jewellery, watches and accessories

To become: jewelry, watch and accessory designer
Language of Instruction: English
Courses (types and duration): Master of Arts in Design and Applied Arts (less than 1 year)
Final Degree/Diploma: a certificate issued by CA, delivered upon successful completion of the course
Attendance: full-time and mandatory
Mode and Assessment: students will receive steady feedbacks about the work done throughout the seven months’ class in Creative Academy, including lectures, exercises, researches, presentations, seminars, computer training, projects for the Richemont Brands.
Study Abroad Programs: guided visits around Italy and abroad are included in the fee.
Internship Program: a 3-month internship at one of the Richemont Group’s trade-mark companies is offered to the most deserving students at the end of the course of study, from September to November.
Placement: no placement service.
Size of Classes: small, 20 students.
Places: limited. International young design graduates who want to apply for the course should submit their application form, resume and artistic portfolio by early September of every year. Interested readers should check the official website for deadlines.
Entry Requirements: to have successfully completed an undergraduate course (or equivalent) related to design. Previous work experience is a preferred qualification. Applications from candidates who already have a professional background in the field are particularly welcome. Candidates should remember that classes are held in English.
